The Senedd is the National Assembly building and is home to the debating chamber and three committee rooms for the National Assembly for Wales. It was opened in 2006 and occupies a prominent position on the waterfront in Cardiff Bay.
It is a public building and you can visit the public areas and galleries (admission is free) and have a cup of coffee. Public events are held here, including performers, singers and exhibitions.
The building was designed by Richard Rogers and was built using traditional materials from Wales, including oak and slate as well as other sustainable materials. It has been described as one of the most environmentally friendly parliament buildings in the world.
