St Fagans is one of Europe's best open-air museums and Wales's most popular heritage attraction. It stands in the grounds of the wonderful St Fagans Castle, which is a late 16th-century manor house.

The museum opened in 1948 and is home to more than forty original buildings from all over Wales – they have been carefully dismantled and re-erected and conserved at the open-air museum. They include houses, a farm, a school, a chapel, a Celtic village, a toll house and a Workmen's Institute. Traditional crafts are demonstrated in workshops and traditional festivals such as May Day and Christmas are marked with lively activities and events.

Native breeds of livestock can be seen in the fields and farmyards, and demonstrations of farming tasks take place daily. Visitors enjoy the rich heritage and culture of Wales at this excellent museum and it is one of the UK’s top 10 free visitor attractions.
